I'm a busy
little fellow
with a lot more work to do.
Scampering around the
yard,
trying to find something new.
I'm hunting for my
winter's stash
to hold me over until spring.
So I scamper, sniff,
discover and bury
any yummy kind of thing.
You may watch but
don't come close
for I'll shake my tail and run.
Then I'll scamper up the
tree,
and chatter at you, for fun!
I may not be very big
in size
but even though I'm small,
I have a yard full of
buried treasures
and I'll certainly claim them all.
So, this winter, when looking out
your window
and you see movement beside the tree.
That little patch of fluff digging in
the snow,
will, most certainly, be me!
